Ok, so what’s the deal? What IS a second-line parade?
The Second Line is a tradition organized by Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs (SAPCs) in New Orleans, Louisiana. The "main line" or "first line" is the main section of the parade, with the members of the SAPC leading with the brass band. The Second Line consists of people who follow the band to enjoy the music, dance, and engage in "community." The Second Line's participants dance and walk along in a free-form style. Exuberant dancing in the streets and sidewalks is part of the second-line experience… aka: FUN!
(Friendly Reminder: Stanley's sells your favorite drinks to-go! ;)
Check with the bar for drink specials on Fat Tuesday! Just in case..
Online ordering will be unavailable after 4 pm
The last Call for food before the Parade will be 5:15 pm
The kitchen will be closed from 5:30 until 6:30 pm so our KREWE can walk the 2nd Line together! (Bar will remain OPEN)
"Normal" business will resume when we all return to the restaurant. Let the good times roll! BE KIND! HAVE FUN!
